The famous Esterházy family established this estate in 1910.
A year-round crystal-clear stream feeds all the five productive lakes (8.2 ha total surface area), the sixth is yet an empty lake bed, various service areas take up about 1.5 ha, while the rest of the 12.5 ha (about 32 acres) property is standing forest.
The lakes are partly covered with reeds, giving home to a variety of wildlife—among them egrets, herons, black storks.

The currently farmed species of fish are carp, grass carp, bream, pike, perch, and catfish. The lakes all have fish-farm water-right permits.
The area is connected to public utilities. On the banks of the largest lake, there are four buildings: a 53 m2 fishing house, a 300 m2 utility building, a garage, and stable for 4 horses.
The estate is 110 km from Budapest, (3/4 of it on motor highway). Fishing, big-game hunting, and equestrian sports are major tourist attractions of the area.
